Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Neha Shetty’s DJ Tillu has been released today across the globe. The movie has got positive reviews and talk and has also taken a flying start at the box office. It has recorded a $100K opening from the US Premieres alone.
AP and Telangana’s first-day numbers are also going to be big. Meanwhile, Aha Video bagged the Post-theatrical OTT rights of the movie, and Star MAA bought the Satellite rights. DJ Tillu is likely to be out on Aha Video four or six weeks after its theatrical release. That means we are looking at March first or third-week release.
Aha Video is known to be cooperative to the filmmakers over the release. The movie if promoted aggressively is likely to do extremely well at the box office. This is the right boost to Tollywood after the third wave and it has come from a small movie.
DJ Tillu works primarily due to the hero’s characterization and excellent writing stuffed with comedy. Siddhu Jonnalagadda is an asset to the film and so is Thaman‘s background score. The second half if handled better would have been gold dust to the makers.
