A decade and a half ago, filmmaker MS Raju was one of the most respected producers. His judgement was sound, and everything he made was successful, one way or the other. Unfortunately, with time and some bad choices, MS Raju lost his most possessed ‘quality’ aspect. After a long gap, he is now trying to make a comeback.
MS Raju has taken the vulgarity route to register to the current younger lot through his upcoming presentation Dirty Hari. It might once again be a misreading on his part to assume only sex sells. It is the underlying story and the intense emotions that would eventually determine the connection and success of the film. Dirty Hari from the visuals looks like a desperate attempt.
The voice over from Sunil saves the trailer from being a total disaster. It provides the much-needed context, but still makes one unclear about the basic premise. It is useful in a way that not much is revealed, but some of the directorial impulses from the video suggest the presence of little outdated thinking. If that is the case, overall, Dirty Hari could find it challenging to get the nod of the target audience. The titillations scenes are okay to entice the audience, initially, for now.
Still, for whatever it is worth MS Raju is making a comeback. If he could exhibit his past judgement skills, we could have some entertaining outings. One wishes him best and hopes for the best.
