Shankar has once again silenced his critics with the pre-release business of his upcoming film Manoharudu in Telugu. The film has been in the making for a long time and its hero Vikram has been having a harrowing time at the box office. Keeping these in mind the trade expected the film to be sold at nominal price and not a record breaking one for a dubbed film. Many in trade expected Robo, a Shankar-Rajinikanth combination film, to remain unchallenged.

But Shankar has worked his magic again. With an out of form hero like Vikram and delayed project, the director has got record business done for the film. According to buzz doing the rounds in the industry the movie has been taken by distributors for a whopping price of approximately 30 Cr. That is the highest amount paid for the rights of dubbing film so far in Telugu cinema. The previous best was 27 Cr paid for Robo. The number is huge and the film has to perform sensationally at box office to recover it. Will it or won’t, a clarity could be got soon as the music releases on September 15.
