It was a criticism that everyone had when Gautamiputra Satakarni was given tax-free status in Andhra Pradesh. The same government had previously declined tax-free status to a similar film Rudramadevi.
Today, director Gunasekhar made this issue amply clear to all. He has written an open letter directed to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu asking him why his film didn’t get the similar benefit when it fits the same requirements as Gautamiputra Satakarni.
He has gone a step ahead and has asked the respectable CM to refund the Entertainment Tax collected through the screening of his movie. It is politely done but one can clearly see through the hurt and indirect attack on his films mistreatment vis a vis the GSPK tax grant.
