The recently released Shaakuntalam starring Samantha is the biggest failure in Dil Raju’s career as a producer and exhibitor. There are reports that he lost more than 20 crores in this historical period romance.
The film that was released two weeks ago didn’t even get minimum talk or collections from the audience. But it looks like Dil Raju recovered from that huge shock and is back to normal pretty quickly.
He is busy giving interviews to a couple of channels and journalists. There was a ‘Thank You’ meet for Virupaksha in Hyderabad on Sunday which Dil Raju attended as a guest. Even during the event, he looked completely normal and talked in his usual style with no regrets or sadness about Shaakuntalam’s losses on his face.
Dil Raju has been in the industry for over two decades now, maybe that experience has taught him how to cope with failures. Many producers after delivering a big flop, go missing from the limelight. But Dil Raju proved to be different and showed he is made of stronger stuff.
As they say, success favors the brave, Virupaksha which was distributed by Dil Raju in Nizam, turned out to be a huge money spinner. This success might have compensated for some of the losses of Shaakuntalam.
