Comparisons between Malayalam ‘Premam’ and the Telugu remake are inevitable as the original was declared a blockbuster in Kerala and overseas. When the Telugu version of ‘Malare’ video song with lyrics ‘Evare’ was released, Shruti Haasan was attacked big time and trolled on social media.
At that point of time, there had been many doubts on the Telugu remake as the original became popular among urban audiences in Telugu States as well as Sai Pallavi, who was the soul of the Malayalam movie was not repeated in the remake and Shruti was brought in.
Speaking about this heavy trolling before release, director Chandoo Mondeti says that they didn’t care the social media haters who were only 5% and the rest of the audiences never watched the original and hence they would genuinely like the film.
Shruti Haasan met the business parameters they had set for themselves for the commercial success of the movie explained the director.
