KAAKA-MUTTAI

Dhanush-produced film ‘Kaaka Muttai’ will be the first Tamil film to be screened in upcoming Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The film is about the life of two young brothers in a slum. Dhanush, who has co-produced the film with Fox star India is delighted with the foreign recognition. Here’s what he had to say.

I’m glad to announce that Kaaka Muttai has been officially selected at the 2014 Toronto film festival under Discovery category. I’m very proud of Manikandan the director of the film to be the first Tamil film maker to enter the festival as a debutant. As the producers of the film Vetri Maaran and I are proud and thrilled. I feel honoured that a Tamil film is reaching international audience. Kaaka Muttai is a simple and humble yet a very important film. A lot of hard work and patience has gone into the making of this film. Our thanks to each and everyone who supported us. I thank Fox Star for their support. It meant a lot for this project.
