While a lot of discussion is going on, on the impact of dubbing films on the revenues of straight Telugu movies releasing during festival seasons, Shankar’s ‘I’ release was much debated. It is officially confirmed that ‘I’ is going to come this Sankranthi season. But in the new year, even before ‘I’ hit theatres, Dhanush’s ‘Raghuvaran B Tech’ came silently and scored a decent hit.
‘Raghuvaran B Tech’s success opened new market avenues for the actor in the Telugu Film Industry. Though Telugus know him as superstar’s son-in-law, he didn’t have much scene in Tollywood till the release of the above said film. More than a couple of Dhanush’s films had been dubbed and released earlier but none made an impact. But this time ‘Raghuvaran B tech’ did magic to Dhanush’s market in Tollywood.
According to the latest updates, it is learnt that one of Dhanush’s Tamil movies ‘Aadugalam’ which was released four years back is going to get dubbed soon as ‘Pandem Kollu’ into Telugu. Tapsee played the main female lead. This film actually won him Nation Award in Best Actor (male) category. However dubbing it after four years of release is an evidence how fast Tamilians take advantage and try to seep in, to capture the market in other languages.
