The makers were confident about the content and they even held paid premieres in the Telugu states. This has helped in generating a good word of mouth for the Dhanush starrer.
Cut to now, Sir has emerged as the biggest opener for Dhanush in the Telugu market. The positive word of mouth worked like a charm from the matinees and that rubbed into the night shows. Several night shows ran to packed occupancies and a few more theaters were added in a few areas.
Today being Mahasivaratri, the box office prospects of the film will take a substantial spike and it is on course to register an excellent opening weekend. There’s an excellent trend for today and tomorrow being Sunday, will only work in favor of the cause.
The first day numbers of Sir are the highest for Dhanush till date and he should be a happy man for scoring big with his Telugu debut. The film has also grossed over $100K at the USA box office. It is on a strong run at the domestic and USA box office.
