Coca Cola, a leading cola brand globally isn’t the same dominant force in India. Its sister brands Thums Up and Sprite, are much more popular and leading the sales as far as India is considered. The head of the company wants to change this and get Coca Cola to the top and for this they have decided to rope in Bollywood’s current sensation Deepika Padukone. Although still unconfirmed sources say the actress will be paid handsomely for this deal. The last female star to endorse the soft drink was Aishwarya Rai who continued to be face of the cola giant till few years ago.
There will be a change in the male face as well. Upcoming Bollywood actor Imran Khan who used to be the brand ambassador for the soft drink has been reportedly replaced by Farhan Akthar who is at the peak of his career currently and has an immense following among the youth. Through Deepika Padukone and Farhan Akthar Coca Cola is expecting to give competition to its rival cola group Pepsi in India who have Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra as their brand ambassadors.
