The new film of Superstar Rajinikanth has opened decently on its first day. As expected, it has collected more than half of Petta’s full run in Telugu on the opening day itself.
Darbar has collected approximately 4.4 Cr on its opening day in Telugu states. The good performance in Nizam has enabled it to get the more than decent numbers on the opening. Darbar coming solo gave it the advantage of the big release, as well. It is another significant reason for the final day one total.
The combination with AR Murugadoss, of course, is the biggest factor among all. The trade was sure that Darbar wouldn’t repeat Petta fate for the same combo potential. The two brands coming together has worked.
However, from the second day, word of mouth is going to take over. It is mixed, and with two big Telugu movies ahead, chances of a breakeven look a little tough at the moment. The good news is the holidays ahead, and if Darbar manages a decent number of theatres, it can have a reasonable total, in the end.
