Dear Comrade Trailer Talk: Arjun Reddy Reloaded And RepackedFinally, the trailer of Vijay Deverakonda’s most eagerly awaited Dear Comrade has dropped. It is as intense, and one expects based on the teaser, and there seems to be a genuine story on offer.

But first things first, right after we watch the trailer once, the immediate impression we get is that Dear Comrade is Arjun Reddy 2.0. The overall style, aggressiveness and attitude everything has the same vibe of Arjun Reddy, only here Dear Comrade looks more moody, old school and poetic in nature. The only thing missing was the actor reciting a poem.

There is nothing terrible with repetition, especially after a few away outings like Geetha Govindam and Taxiwaala. If Vijay Deverakonda has to develop a cult following, repetition of what followers like has to be done. It is what will give a kick to them.

Since the comparison with Arjun Reddy is inevitable, debutant director Bharat Kamma has a lot to deliver. Mere replication of the attitude and angst won’t do, there has to be something more, at least that is the hope we have. It is that extra which will make it a fresh iteration. As it is, Dear Comrade is still unusual for Telugu cinema as hard-hitting, realistic tales are a rarity even now. Even more so featuring an A-lister.

Check out the trailer below. Dear Comrade stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead and they both do generate chemistry that is palpable from the shown visuals itself. The intense love story hits screens in all South Indian languages simultaneously on July 26th.
