NTR’s Dammu is not only creating stir in trade circles but also in political circles. Telugu Desam Party had called for a bundh in the Krishna district demanding Machilipatnam port. This bandh call had coincided with the release date of Dammu. The morning shows of the movie at several places were stalled or delayed due to the bandh. This costed about 10-15 Lakhs share of the movie in the district. Also NTR had lost a chance to register a record in the district, NTR was reportedly very furious with TDP for this.

And the repercussions for this step started follow on Friday’s evening. NTR’s close aide and former Vijayawada TDP MP candidate, Vallabhaneni Vamsi had met YSR Congress party President, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and  hugged him in public, indicating his intentions to join forces with the Kadapa MP. Vamsi met Jagan when the latter was stranded in the traffic near Gannavaram on his way to Vijayawada. Jagan hugged Vamsi and spoke to him for a brief while. Vamsi wished Jagan and his friend Radhakrishna good luck before returning to his vehicle. “It did not look like an accidental meeting,” said a YSR Congress leader.

This could be also a major boost to YSR Congress as Vamsi is a former close aide of Paritala Ravi. While Telugu Desam Party is trying to corner Jagan as his closs aide, Mangali Krishna is convicted on a murder attempt of Paritala.
