Akkineni Nagarjuna’s latest film Damarukam is highly anticipated by the viewers. But, it’s not just the movie that the audiences are hyped about. Apparently the media has claimed that the story of Damarukam is based on the novel The Immortals of Meluha by Amish. This led to the author sending a legal notice to the film makers for copyright violation. Nagarjuna responded by giving him a written clarification that his movie is completely different from the book.

Following these events, Nagarjuna along with the producers of Damarukam, held a press conference to clarify the same to the media. Talking to the reports, he had said that “Damarukam is neither based on The Immortals of Meluha, nor even loosely inspired from it. It has completely different and brand new story. But he is shocked and disappointed to read the reports which claim that it is inspired fromThe Immortals of Meluha.”

But despite the press meet, some print and electronic media are still of the view that the film is loosely based on Amish’s novel, which is a cause of shock to the filmmakers and the actors.
