Controversy Around RRR Celebration AnthemThe makers of RRR unveiled a new celebratory song from the album ‘Etthara Jenda’ the other day. Now, an interesting controversy has loomed around ‘Etthara Jenda’ song which is being promoted as RRR celebration anthem by the unit.

In Etthara Jenda’s video song, we see several references to renowned freedom fighters including Sadar Vallabhai Patel, Tanguturi Prakasam, Chatrapathi Sivaji, and others. But interestingly enough, there is no reference to Mahatma Gandhi.

The fact that team RRR excluded Gandhi from a promotional song that has reference to India’s greatest freedom fighters is drawing an interesting response on social media.

A few people say RRR is based on the lives of Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, who are aggressive violence- oriented individuals and that could be the reason why the makers opted to ignore Gandhi, who maintained a non-violence stance. A few are even faulting Rajamouli and Co. for ignoring a legendary freedom fighter like Gandhi.

Others say Gandhi wasn’t as famous or relevant during the timeline that RRR is set in. Either way, the ‘Gandhi’ controversy is setting in on RRR’s celebration anthem. But it isn’t the one to be taken too seriously and it only boosts the buzz surrounding the film, if anything.
