condom-in-indiaMost of the Condom companies readily available in India follow International standard sizes of Penises. However a two-year study by the Indian Council of Medical Research found that more than 50% Indian men have their penises shorter than international standards for condoms.

India already have highest number of HIV infections and there are demands for the condom companies to make their products available in different sizes so that they cater to all Indian men. The Study inspected the Penises of 1200 men across the country and about 60% of them have penises which are between three and five centimeters shorter than international standards.

The study also reveals that around one in every five times a condom is used in India will fail as it either falls off or tears. Experts say introducing smaller condoms will not totally solve the problem as Indians will be too embarrassed to approach the counters for smaller condoms, they say there should be vending machines dispensing different sizes all around the country.
