Director Gopichand Malineni is riding high with the success of his latest film Veera Simha Reddy. During one of the promotional interviews, he revealed one unknown fact about Megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback vehicle Khaidi No. 150.
Gopichand said that the first proposal to remake AR Murugadoss’ Kathi came to him. NTR was supposed to act in the film. While they were setting up the project, hero Vijay decided to release the dubbed version of the film in Telugu.
Gopichand added that when he approached NTR, he didn’t expect that he would come up with such a heavy project with so much action. He said that NTR expected a light project from him.
On the other hand, Chiranjeevi and his team officially bought the rights to the remake and that’s how Gopichand missed the chance of remaking Kaithi and it was finally released as Chiru’s comeback film, Khaidi No. 150.
Many on social media are saying that VV Vinayak added many unnecessary elements and turned it into a regular masala khichdi fare. Gopichand, on the other hand, would have handled it in a much better way, they feel.
