Unlike in India, the distribution and screening of films are looked after by government officials in China. Presently, they are evincing interest in one South Indian film ‘Pahilwan’ starring Kichcha Sudeep in the lead titular role.
If everything goes well, the paper one is done and the makers get permission from China, ‘Pahilwan’ will be the first Kannada movie to ever go to China. The modalities are being worked out and the paperwork regarding China release is presently going on.
China is interested because the movie is based on sports and this movie would be an inspiration for their young generations. Moreover, their government always has their priorities rightly set for encouraging sports and games.
Previously, there was a buzz that Yash’s ‘KGF‘ might go to China and be the first Kannada movie to be going there. However, somehow that didn’t happen and even the makers of the movie dropped the idea for the reasons best known to them. Now we have this update about ‘Pahilwan’.
