TV9-ABN-issue-at-center
Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar has written a letter to Telangana Chief Minister over the issue of banning of TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothy in the region. Javadekar urged KCR to immediately lift ban on the telecast of both these channels and help them resume their operations. Few days ago even the AP High Court voiced similar opinion regarding the ban of the news channels in the state.

It is said that I&B ministry already wrote a letter to Telangana Chief Secretary to take corrective measures in this issue but government did not make any move regarding this. So the minister himself wrote a letter to Chief Minister to intervene. The Telangana government till date did not voice any opinion on this ban. On the wake of letter from Javadekar, government now has to respond on this issue.

It is known that the channels were banned by the MSOs of the region after Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao slammed them in Assembly for airing derogatory news on the region. Andhra Jyothy had taken the issue to the concerned officials, central government and the governor but the ban is still in place. So Andhra Jyothy management filed a complaint regarding it in the high court.
