The whole film industry has been in an uproar about the Vishwaroopam situation ever since the Kamal Haasan directed movie was banned by the state government following the protests from Islamic communities. The film which was originally scheduled to be released on Januray 25th has now been at mercy of filthy politics.

In this context, the chairperson of Central Board of Film Certification, Leela Samson has expressed his immense shock on the issue of the ban on Kamal Haasan’s filmVishwaroopam, and feels that the act is indeed an infringement on freedom of expression.
In Samson’s words, “This is hounding of an artist, a man who is an icon of Tamil Nadu. We are sensitive to issues. The group objecting to ‘Vishwaroopam’ have the freedom not to view it. We will object to the language used by the lawyer representing the Tamil Nadu government against the censor board.”

He further added, “It is absolutely unacceptable. We have certified hundreds and thousands of films but only with Vishwaroopam, people find, it has not been done with due diligence? This is an infringement on freedom of expression.”
