Impersonating celebrities on Social networking is becoming more common and more serious these days. As the usage of social networking sites is growing among different sections of the society, impersonation of celebrities some times is even giving rise to unrest in the people. Few days ago, a person created a fake Facebook and Twitter account in the name of party president Raj Thackaray and has been posting defamatory content against him.

Maharashtra Nirmana Sena, the party of Raj Thackeray complained to the police that their leader is being defamed on the online sphere ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly polls. The page created six months ago have more than two Lakh likes and thousands of comments on it. It is said that the Police have started tracking the person who has created these accounts but are yet to register a case in this matter. The state assembly elections in Maharashtra are scheduled for October 15.
