Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister has the credit of building Hitech City in Hyderabad in record time and aiding huge IT related employment in the state. And now after the state division, Chandra Babu is planning similar IT hub in the residual Andhra Pradesh too. Officials have already identified nearly 2,000 acres of government land in Bapulapadu, about 5 km away from the Gannavaram airport that provides connectivity to Vijayawada and the region.

Apart from this, land is being identified in Nuzvid also. It is said that according to Naidu, he wants to develop IT industry in a 10,000 acre cluster around the new capital that will come up between Vijayawada and Guntur.It is said that Chandra Babu is already in touch with several IT giants and MNCs to establish their branch offices here and create employment opportunities in the region.

Telugu Desam leader, Ashok Gajapathi Raju who is the central Aviation Minister is already in trials of expanding Gannavaram Airport to an international Airport and cater the needs of investors. It is also said that along with the capital region, Babu is also targeting IT industrial growth in Vishakapatnam which already hosts handful of IT companies. There are also proposals to develop IT industry in Anantapur district which is in the close proximity of Bangalore and Hyderabad Airports.
