The officers of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have arrived in Kadapa district today to resume their investigation into the murder of former MP YS Vivekananda Reddy before the 2019 elections. The High Court had ordered the investigation after Viveka’s daughter expressed doubts about the Government.
However, the investigation is not going on expected lines. The CBI has questioned several persons including workers in the house of the former MP in their last visit but that was seven months ago. Viveka’s daughter Sunitha called for a Press conference a couple of months ago and once again pleaded to intensify the probe.
Viveka is the uncle of CM Jagan (He is the brother of YSR). Around 80% of the suspects’ list she gave to the High Court comprises of names from the YS family and YSR Congress. YSR Congress Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy and his father are also on the list of suspects.
We will have to see if CBI will be serious in the investigation at least this time!
