It is known that Government of India had appointed a panel to decide the Captial of Seema Andhra. It is said that after taking suggestions from various sections of the society, the panel zeroed in some places and will be touring them to take the final decision. But it looks this panel is bogus and is a mere eyewash. The panel arrived in Vishakapatnam on Friday evening with out its chairman, retired IAS officer KC Siva Ramakrishnan.
Local leaders who were eagerly waiting to give their views to the committee were very disappointed and are of the opinion that the panel is a mere eye wash and the final decision will be taken according to the wishes of the government. According to committee members, Siva Rama Krishnan was not well and would join the committee at Vijayawada. The committee will also be visiting Rajahmundry as part of its study. Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (Vuda), Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Commissioner (GVMC), Uttarandhra Political JAC, Uttarandhra Vidhyarthi Sena and Telugu Desam Party representatives have met the panel and explained them why Vizag should be made the capital.
