In a ‘Walk for Fitness’ walkathon of which Sania Mirza is the brand ambassador, the leading lady of Indian Tennis opened up about her career plans, her interests and her loyalties in the upcoming cricket season.
Having just concluded a tennis season, Sania has been appearing for many events of which included the launch of Shantanu and Nikhil’s store, the dynamic duo who had designed her wedding ensemble. Sania also expressed her interests in racing cars and said that she and her cricketer husband Shoaib Malik had an “exhilarating time” in Delhi at the recent India Grand Prix. “I was there last year too, but it was Shoaib’s first time and he completely loved it. Now he wants to buy a Lamborghini. He loves racing cars and we do have some fast cars at home.
Regarding her loyalties in the upcoming cricket matches, Sania answered diplomatically, “I didn’t marry Shoaib because he plays for the Pakistan cricket team, it’s because we love each other. Too much spotlight has been given on to where my loyalties lie when it comes to cricket. Even though I love the Indian team, I’ll always support my husband.”
