We see a game of musical chairs happening in Tollywood right now. The big films are playing it safe by releasing for Sankranthi. We have at least half a dozen films for Sankranthi this time. Meanwhile, there are reports that SS Rajamouli’s RRR is arriving for Sankranthi on January 7th.
RRR will not release until the North markets improve. But then, if at all RRR releases, the movie is unlikely to get a solo release but then, some movies will have to look for other dates for sure. Radhe Shyam among all these films will be the first movie to complete its shoot.
The movie has been under production for a long time now. So whatever the other movies decide, Radhe Shyam is unlikely to postpone further because of the interests burden. If the situation is conducive for RRR to arrive, it will be the same for Radhe Shyam because it is a Pan-India of a similar scale.
So there is a chance to witness two mega Pan-India films releasing in the gap of one week (RRR likely on January 7th). RRR will not have a free run in the second week and Radhe Shyam can not have a wide release in its opening week. That brings us to the question of two Pan-India films releasing with one week gap is possible.
