Thaman has mostly been working on commercial potboilers of late and he will be returning to the love drama genre with Radhe Shyam, which will present him with a whole new challenge altogether.
Background scores play a decisive role in the movie-watching experience when it comes to love dramas. The score should align with the theme of the proceedings and at the same time elevate the narrative.
There is a complaint that Thaman uses loud background scores for elevation purposes and he won’t be getting to do that with Radhe Shyam, which is tipped to be a feel-good love drama. He will have to explore a new avenue. Of late, everything Thaman touches is turning to gold, and Prabhas’s fans will be hoping he works his magic on Radhe Shyam.
The director of Radhe Shyam, Radha Krishna said Thaman understood the assignment right from the day he came on board for Radhe Shyam and added that the happening music composer came up with a winning soundtrack for the film. Radha says Thaman is the best thing to happen to Radhe Shyam towards the end.
Another observation is that there is not a lot of pre-release hype going into Radhe Shyam’s release. So, the word of mouth is essential in the film’s success. That can be attained only if the film comes with winning content and Thaman’s background score will have a telling say in the same.
In a way, Thaman has the chance to change Radhe Shyam’s fate with his background score. Will he be able to do it? We will know the answer on 11 March when the film releases in theatres worldwide.
