Nagarjuna’s The Ghost carried decent expectations after a good response to the teasers and trailers. But for reasons unknown, the audience just didn’t turn up to watch Nagarjuna’s spy action thriller. The mixed reports also didn’t help the cause and the film has been performing way below expectations.
Now, Akhil Akkineni is coming up with Agent which again belongs to the same genre of the slick action spy thriller. But Agent’s hype is far more than The Ghost. The expectations are also on another level from the trade and the audience.
Agent’s director Surender Reddy and The Ghost’s director Praveen Sattaru are poles apart and Agent does seem like a very well-shot and enthralling thriller with high production values. The pre-release business of Agent is also going miles ahead of The Ghost.
Akhil had a decent success in the form of Most Eligible Bachelor but that one ground-breaking and career-defining film is missing from Akhil’s resume and Agent is the film that is expected to fill that void.
Produced by AK Entertainments and Surender 2 Cinema, Agent was supposed to release this year but the makers are already planning to postpone it to next year to ensure that Agent has the highest quality content without any compromise.
