Sekhar_Kammula_Political_ThrillerSekhar Kammmula is a proficient director when it comes to love stories and drama. But when he attempted a political film (Leader), the box office result was not up to the mark. And when he made a thriller (Anamika), that too bombed badly. Now he is teaming up with Dhanush for a political thriller on a pan-India level.

To be honest, there’s not much remaining to explore in the political genre. There’s already so much happening in and outside the country in terms of politics that a common moviegoer might not be interested in watching a political film again in theaters as well.

This was the same reason that even Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu received a dull response from a section of the audience because everyone knows what happens in politics these days. There’s nothing left in this genre that can shock or surprise the audience anymore.

Also, the political scene right now in real-time is much more spicy, thrilling, and shocking than any politics shown in fictional movies.

So it would be very challenging for Sekhar Kammula to come up with an engaging political thriller in these times unless the subject is completely novel, like Simbu’s Maanadu.

Let’s see how Kammula makes this film in a genre where he has failed in the past and has lost its glory in today’s times.
