Pushpa2-Dubbed-FranchisesSS Rajamouli can be called a visionary for starting the trend of two-part films with Baahubali. Then films like KGF, Ponniyin Selvan, and Pushpa continued this trend. There are talks that Salaar, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, and some other movies are also being planned to release in two parts.

Shankar’s Robot(2010) can also be added to this list as a franchise movie, but its first part was complete in itself. The sequel (2.0) was planned much later.

Robot collected around 25 crores in its Hindi dubbed version. Its sequel 2.0 made around 190 crores net. Baahubali 1 grossed 120 crore net in 2015, and Baahubali 2 did an unimaginable 510 crore in 2017, with more than five crore footfalls in the Hindi dubbed version.

Sandalwood pride KGF 1 collected 45 crores in 2018, and Chapter 2 made whopping collections of approx. 465 crores in Hindi.

Last year Ponniyin Selvan 1 flopped badly by collecting around 15 crores in the Hindi version, and there aren’t many hopes for its second part as well in its Hindi dubbed version.

Pushpa (2021) collected close to 110 crores net in its dubbed Hindi version. There is tremendous hype for its second part in the Hindi belts. The promotional video released recently has also triggered expectations further.

Trade analysts believe that if the content of Pushpa 2 gets accepted, then crossing Baahubali 2 collections would be a cakewalk and might become the biggest dubbed franchise film of Indian cinema.
