King Nagarjuna had enthralled Telugu audience with devotional films like Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu. Annamayya was a smashing hit due to extraordinary songs and the movie content. But since then there were several devotional and mythological movies in Telugu which were not embraced by audience as much as expected. Nagarjuna’s Sri Ramadasu was an average grosser and Balayya’s Pandurangadu failed miserably.

Finally, Balayya tried a mythological film in the form of Sri Rama Rajyam. The movie received rave reviews and appreciation but could not get the much required commercial success. There were several small devotional films which released meanwhile but failed to make a mark. And now, Nagarjuna is once again back with a devotional film in the form of Shirdi Sai. The movie is ready for release very soon.

Lets see if the movie becomes one more Annamayya or another Sri Rama Rajyam!
