ar-murugadoss-jr-ntr-biling-movieDirector AR Murugadoss has been in the industry from around the same time as SS Rajamouli and he had achieved pan South Indian fame as director way before Rajamouli could with Ghajini in 2005 itself. Not only that he has been the first big transport from South to Bollywood in last decade and was the person responsible for the creation of the 100 Cr club there. All his films, now even his productions too, get dubbed regularly into Telugu. Given such a track record he was seen as next only to Shankar.

Unlucky for the director, lucky for the actor though, his last two films despite being blockbusters couldn’t find patronage in Telugu due to the lead. Fact is his last film didn’t even release in Telugu. And then Baahubali happened which has pushed the director out of limelight online and in media.

But the trade and heroes know his value and are currently seen going after him. Have you observed how right after Baahubali every hero has associated himself with Murugadoss starting from Allu Arjun to Mahesh Babu and the latest Jr NTR? Such is the demand for him right now.

Murugadoss clearly has been more prolific as a filmmaker and he has done variety of films in big commercial space without particularly sticking to a style or genre. And his pace allows him to make more movies compared to Rajamouli. The question is can the director create the big bang again. Last heard he is planning on a big bilingual in Telugu and Tamil. Will he be able to challenge Rajamouli with it? He certainly can’t be ruled out is what we think.
