Ajay Devgn is coming up with his latest action entertainer Bholaa which is the official remake of Kaithi. Despite being a remake, the film garnered some decent hype after the release of its promos.
But as the film was approaching the release date, the hype kept fading. The trailer and songs that were released recently also couldn’t increase the buzz, and due to this, the film has failed to take off in its advance bookings. The film has sold just around 35,000 tickets in premium multiplex chains, PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, despite being a holiday (Ram Navami). The remake factor has played a big spoilsport.
The early reviews of Bholaa are out, and the reports suggest that the film is a watchable action masala film that has enough content to satisfy the mass audience. But if the audience isn’t excited and is not ready to step out to watch the film, irrespective of reviews, then it is a sad situation. The film is made on a big budget, and there is a lot at stake.
Last year Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan’s Vikram Vedha also faced similar rejection from the audience. Despite the glowing reviews, the audience just didn’t turn up at the theaters.
The biggest positive for Bholaa is that it has an open run for three weeks with no competition till Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. If word of mouth turns out to be positive for the film, then Bholaa might still surprise at the box office with good collections.
