If the rumours doing rounds in Political circles are to be believed, Rebel Star Krishnam Raju may be appointed as a Governor to some state very soon. Krishnam Raju managed to derieve such promise from BJP high command recently. NDA government is still continuing UPA government appointed governors in few states, they are planning to replace them.
Krishnam Raju started his political career by contesting an unsuccessful election in 1992 from Narsapuram on a Congress ticket. After a brief hibernation, he rejoined politics and won the 1998 Lok Sabha elections from Kakinada on BJP ticket. Later in 1999 elections, he contested from Narasapuram constituency and won again. He was minister of state for external affairs in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government from 2000 to 2004. He, however, lost the 2004 elections from the same constituency.
Just before the 2009 elections, he joined Praja Rajyam Party and contested for Rajahmundry MP constituency. However he lost miserably and following the insulting defeat of PRP, he went in to political hibernation and just before the 2019 elections he rejoined BJP but not contested in the election.
