In Bollywood of late one actress who has become the target for butt of jokes is Alia Bhatt. After the telecast of Alia’s episode of Karan Johar’s popular chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’, she was targetted quite badly. In the show she couldn’t answer a simple question like ‘Who is the President of India?’. She confidently replied ‘Prithviraj Chauhan’ surprising the host and audience on her GK. That’s it. Since then lot of memes are made up mimicking Alia’s style. Just one stupid answer and people aren’t tired of laughing out loud at her.
Though not to that extent and not on the same matter, in Tollywood actress Nandita of ‘Prema Katha Chitram’ fame has become the target of butt of jokes. She potrayed the character of a girl who is possessed by a ghost (deyyam). Since then people started cracking jokes on her saying ‘deyyam kalla pilla’ (girl with ghost’s eyes) and baatu gudla pilla (duck eyed girl).
A story is making rounds that the driver who used to bring Nandita to the shooting spot, always made sure that there is somebody else with the actress because he is scared of her ‘deyyam kallu’. Her eyes scared the audience to such extent that her large expressive and otherwise very beautiful eyes became the target for jokes. Nevertheless, one more hit film from her might hopefully change the perception of people on her eyes.
