People have long been looking for a formula for success of movies in the Telugu film industry. In different times, different moves seem to work in the industry. But one thing has been constant in the movies for a long time. It is in fact the element of comedy or comic relief. Such is the case that no Tollywood movie today seems complete without a ‘star comedian’, preferably standing along with a varied mix of funny sidekicks who seem to provide the major entertainment in the films.
Case in point is Actors like Brahmanandam, MS Narayana or Ali who have been there even in the most serious films. In fact, it is widely speculated that number one comedian Bhramanandan charges a sum of about 6 lakhs for a single day of shooting. Furthermore, Brahmanandam’s next film, Jaffa, will see him playing the lead role in the movie.
