Despite mixed word of mouth, Bollywood magnum opus, Brahmastra, minted solid revenues at the worldwide box office during its first weekend and breathed a ray of hope among Hindi filmmakers.
Not only in the Hindi version, but the film also performed beyond imagination in the Telugu version as well and is on track to become the biggest grosser among the Hindi dubbed Telugu films.
After a fantastic weekend, Brahmastra dipped during the weekdays consistently. The Tuesday drop of more than 20% from the previous day was alarming. The film has collected 170 crores net from all the versions in its first week.
In the overseas market, the film is a bonafide HIT with amazing collections even on weekdays. In the US alone, the film will gross almost $6 Million in its first week.
The worldwide gross of Brahmastra in the first week will be somewhere around Rs. 300 Crores.
Now all eyes are on the crucial second weekend where the families will again throng theaters to watch Brahmastra. The film has to collect more than Rs 35 crores to achieve the break-even target of Rs 250 crores at the Indian box office.
With no competition till September 30, if Brahmastra performs well in its second and third weekend, then Rs. 250 crores from India alone will be a cakewalk.
