Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, later rechristened Rajinikanth, has lent his name to the golden pages of history by means of his various contributions to the film industry. As he turns 62, it is time to observe the various qualities of his that has made him one of the most successful actors of the industry.
Viji Chandrasekhar who has had the honour of working with Rajinikanth in Tamil comedy called Thillu Mullu says that, “He treats everybody on sets with utmost respect and equal importance. Be it a light boy or a co-star, he doesn’t discriminate for any reason” which makes Rajinikanth the icon he is.
Yet another coworker, Tamil filmmaker Lakshmy Ramakrishnan, believes that, “Rajinikanth is a superstar because he doesn’t believe he is one. He never believes or wanted to be called a superstar, but he is one because people made him. Superstars are not born, they are made. But if someone desperately tries to be a superstar, they’re sure to fail.”
