Bollywood trailer ‘Thappad’ was released today and our Telugu director is all over the place for all the wrong reasons. The trailer is the exact opposite version of ‘Kabir Singh’ and also Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s definition of love.
In one of the fateful interviews for television channels, Sandeep Reddy went on to defend slapping women in a love relationship. He said, where there is no slapping there is no love. That actually created a storm in the teacup.
In ‘Thappad’ Taapsee Pannu’s character demands a divorce from her husband who slaps her in the middle of a party in front of a lot of people. She fights for respect in her relationship.
Now, Sandeep Reddy is buzzing all over for his arrogant comments about slapping and even justified it creating a negative impression on him. When Taapsee was asked about ‘Kabir Singh’, the actress didn’t get herself into a mess.
She simply said that there is nothing wrong with portraying flawed characters like ‘Kabir Singh’. In fact, negative characters are part of many stories but, trying to justify them is what made Sandeep come under severe criticism.
