Bollywood Is Not A Step Higher Than TollywoodJersey is a one-of-a-kind film in Tollywood, which surprised everyone, and entertained everyone beyond expectations. The film went on to achieve greater heights after it bagged two National Awards – Best Feature Film in Telugu and Best Editing.

Speaking of the experience and remaking the film in Bollywood, director Gowtam Tinnanuri shared a few interesting details. He said that he was thrilled and happy when the film received two National Awards, especially for Naveen Nooli, as editing is often looked over. Talking about his experience remaking the film in Hindi, Gowtam said that he shot for the Hindi version in a much more relaxed manner when compared to the Telugu version, as his vision was clear to everyone involved.

Gowtam said that he met with Shahid Kapoor before the release of Kabir Singh when Shahid revealed that he was interested in acting in the remake of Jersey. However, he said Shahid was still interested in doing the remake after Kabir Singh’s release. Gowtam revealed that no changes have been made to the Hindi version, and said that the only difference would be the actors and the way they have owned their characters. He also said that it has been a different and learning experience, shooting for the film during Coronavirus.

When asked how he felt being a Bollywood director, Gowtam revealed that he doesn’t think that Bollywood is a step higher than Tollywood and that he intends to make his next film in Telugu, whose script he is currently working on.
