This is a clash that is on paper keeping purely the release date of the Telugu biggie Baahubali in mind. As we all know ‘right now’ Baahubali directed by SS Rajamouli is slated to release on May 15, well, on the same day a Bollywood biggie too is slated to release.
The big budget 100 Cr movie is Bombay Velvet and its directed by critically acclaimed director Anurag Kashyap. It is the biggest film in his career so far and he is making sure that he puts the best foot forward for the film. So when asked about the competition with Baahubali which also releases on the same day, the director said that he is a fan of SS Rajamouli and would be watching Baahubali on the first day itself. But when it comes to clash and economics of business, it should be left to the makers and it is something doesn’t bother me as I only care about my project, concluded the director.
In the past too Rajamouli’s film had clashed with big anticipated Bollywood films and both have emerged as successes at box office and they both cater to different audience. One could see the history repeating here again.
