Releasing new films on digital platforms within a month of the theatrical release is turning quite a big concern for the distributors whose money is at a stake, at large. The latest, Karthi’s last release ‘Khaidi’ is now available on an OTT platform when the movie is still enjoying its theatrical run.
With the kind of budget the makers had invested in the movie, ‘Khaidi’ is definitely a blockbuster for its budget. It received rave reviews from the critics and the audiences, alike. It has no heroines, no songs, and was entirely shot in the night.
The thriller was one of the most liked movies of Karthi. Now, the Tamil version of the thriller ‘Khaithi’ is available on Hotstar. If that wasn’t enough, the pirates added the Telugu dialogues for the HD version after the Hotstar aired it.
Naturally, the distributors of the film were upset as the movie is still doing well in the theatres. They are worried that eventually, they are walking into corporate traps and that might have a dangerous effect, in the coming days.
