South Cinema is presently basking in happiness of making films which are making it to 100 Cr club and ‘Baahubali’ has surpassed 500 crores even. In this scenario, for any Bollywood film 100 Cr is something like a bench mark to consider a film a super hit. One blockbuster film ‘Drishyam’ is struggling to enter 100 crore club.
‘Drishyam’ made in five languages (one original and four remakes), proved once again that some basic human emotions can surpass any barrier, whether it is a language barrier or a geographical location, we human beings are the same. All the versions of ‘Drishyam’ did well at box-office.
Even Hindi version starring Ajay Devgan, Shreya saran and Tabu in ead roles is performing well and has crossed Rs.71 crore mark. But one has to agree that it is way behind to reach the 100 Cr club to be considered a super hit. Made with a budget of approx. Rs.62 Cr, the film has plunged into profit making phase.
