It is not new to see the angry filmmakers disgusting the critics and the cinema review writers for rating their film low. Falling under the same category, director G Nageswara Reddy got on critics’ nerves for blaming the reviewers for rating a comedy entertainer like Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL on the day of its release.
He was seen saying they are happy and so are their distributors with the response and the openings and the reviewers don’t have to bother about their film. But are the distributors really happy? Don’t think so looking at the numbers.
Hero Sundeep Kishan and the director G. Nageswara Reddy were on the same point that the film has been receiving a positive response from the audience and the critics were only mean to rate them low but here to go with the collections of the weekend, it doesn’t look like the film went well with the audience either.
On the whole, by the end of the release weekend, Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL could only bag 1.5 crores in Telugu states and that is not a number that could make any distributor happy like the makers were claiming. In the US, the it has collected $1,737. Blaming the reviewers didn’t do any good at the end of the day.
