Tollywood is going through a rough patch as none of the new releases in the recent past have been managing to put on a winning show at the box office. Ram’s The Warriorr which was tipped to be a mass film has also failed to pull the audience to theatres in desired numbers.
Now, two of the potentially box office hits from Tollywood are at crossroads about the release date and they are Bimbisara and Karthikeya 2.
Karthikeya 2 had to give up 22nd July slot to Thank You. The makers are now said to be contemplating 5 August as the possible release date. But Bimbisara has already locked the 5 August slot and so has Sita Ramam.
While Bimibisara built up good hype with the trailer, Karthikeya 2 has the sequel advantage and a sizeable target audience. These are believed to be the two potential films that can make some noise at the box office.
If they two go to war by clashing at the box office on the same day, 5 August, it wouldn’t be the right thing to do. They would be eating into each other’s box office prospects. So, the makers of these two films should act smart and pick optimal release dates in order to extract the best results at the box office.
