Biggest Hole Exposed in India's Oscar Entry?Yesterday it was disappointment all over after the news came out that RRR was snubbed by the Indian jury and selected a Gujarati film, Chhello Show, as India’s official entry to the Oscars in the Best Foreign film category. The film was released in Gujarat on select screens on October 14, 2022.

Since then there have been multiple exposes on social media about this Gujarati film.

It is alleged that Chhello Show is a freemake of the 1988 released academy award-winning film, Cinema Paradiso. Both have the same story of a poor boy from a small town befriending a projectionist at a cinema hall & falls in love with the magic of cinema.

Reports are also coming that this film was in contention for the Oscars last year itself and it was ripped apart by the jury members as a film with little cinematic excellence.

How can a film be in contention for two years? Then how come this year again it was considered and that too when we had a solid contender in the form of RRR?

Many are raising voices against the central government for continuing the disrespect of South Cinema. Some are discussing that as the state general elections are scheduled in December this year, the Modi government intentionally selected a Gujarati film.
