Bigg Boss - Telugu, Breaking Stereotypes with Samantha Akkineni?Across different Indian languages of the popular and one of the most-watched shows of television, ‘Bigg Boss, we can clearly see that there is a stereotype. A male celebrity (a charismatic actor in particular) is the typical host.

As per the print media reports, the show organisers have approached Samatha Akkineni to host the fourth season of the reality show. However, it’s yet to be confirmed from official sources.

If Sam is going to be hosting the show, then she would be the first female celebrity to be the host for an entire season not just in Telugu but also all the major Bigg Boss shows in India. In Hindi, it’s Salman Khan’s arena. In Tamil, it’s Kamal Haasan and in Kannada, it’s only Kichcha Sudeep for all the seven seasons, so far.

Coming to Telugu, though we saw Ramya Krishna hosting two episodes of the third season of ‘Bigg Boss – Telugu, it was only in Nagarjuna‘s absence as he was abroad with his family enjoying a holiday. So, Ramya Krishna was only an interim host.

If Sam takes up this show as the host of the fourth season in Telugu, it would be history and the first time ever in India. Sam, travelled many miles and crossed many bridges and we know, she is one of those ladies who are achievers and make examples for others to follow.
