IIT-seema-Andhra

The Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Bill has sanctioned an IIT to the Seema Andhra region. The Center has asked the state government to identify a location for setting up IIT having 500 acres of land and proximity to airport and major railway stations. As the Governor’s rule is in place in the state, Governor had trusted the responsibility with Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education.

However identifying such huge land in the close proximity of Airport and Major Railway Stations is not an easy task. Also it would require the approvals of the government for the land issuing and other infrastructure creation for setting up an IIT. So, Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education has decided to start working only after the appointed day of state bifurcation i.e., June 2nd. By that time, both the state governments will be in place.
