The costumes and the hair style of a character play an important role when it comes to a period drama to look authentic and represent a particular period in the history. So, designing costumes for Chiranjeevi for his upcoming pre-independence era’s drama ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy‘ is not a cake walk.
Bollywood costume designer Anju Modi who had earlier worked for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opuses was roped in for designing the costumes that represent the pre-independence era in the Telugu speaking areas. It’s not an easy task to work with aged heroes and get the desired look as it is comparatively easier with younger heroes.
It takes quite an effort for older heroes like Chiru and Balakrishna because of their age. Looks play a crucial role in period dramas and hence, Chiranjeevi’s look test for ‘Sye Raa’ is going to be very important. Chiru’s daughter Sushmita is said to be part of the costume’s team to work with Anju Modi.
