Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is not a regular singer but whenever he has taken effort to croon, his singing ability has been appreciated by his millions of fans. He has recently lent his voice for his Hindi film Shamitabh, which has music by maestro Illayaraja.

“Oh and yes another session with Aadesh (Shrivastava) at his music studio last night did result in another song that I had to sing for ‘Shamitabh’…the finest quality of music from the genius of Illayaraja, the magician from Chennai,” Big B posted on his blog today. Talking of the veteran Illayaraja, Big B added: “How many years have passed since his emergence and how till today his prominence continues. The veteran, the master, who nurtured some very special musicians.”

Shamitabh also features Dhanush and Kamal Haasan’s second daughter Akshara. The film is being directed by Balki of Cheeni Kum and Paa fame. All movies of Balki so far have had music only by Illayaraja.
